If you have a 3D printer and want a charging base, I modeled one up and put it on **Printables** - [Reekon T1 Tape Measure Charger Base by menerso | Download free STL model | Printables.com](https://www.printables.com/model/749881-reekon-t1-tape-measure-charger-base)

You can tweak the model if you want at OnShape (free accounts available) - [Onshape](https://cad.onshape.com/documents/43c67d7fa544a96094cde007/w/07ef0c2f880c91d82bd57b8a/e/214213cdf6af22629a1269a1?renderMode=0&uiState=65bee275b25cf5483f6a76c4)

Since my battery dies so quickly and the only option that support gave me was to take out my battery every time I don’t use it (which seems dumb for a $250 tool), I made something where I can drop it in the base when not using so that it keeps charged.

Very nice. Now I have to find someone with a 3D printer or purchase one.
I wish I could charge the extra batteries that I purchased separately.

I know. I just wish the battery didn’t die soo quick. It is not the batteries fault either.

This is flat out unreasonable for such an expensive tool to have a parasitic drain like this. They should address this and do a recall since it clearly is a physical issue and not software related else they would have fixed it by now.

Hi Brian, this was fixed a few version ago in firmware - you can download 0.6.15 or newer which has the fix on it!

As mentioned in another thread, Latest updates improved it but it is definitely not fixed.

Yeah, I’m on 0.6.15 and it still won’t hold up worth a darn. I’m close to giving up on the thing.

Hey Steve, please send us an email at contact@reekon.tools if still having issues as it could be a faulty battery.

I’m doing an experiment: I am charging the device, and I will test if it comes on daily, until it doesn’t and get back to you. What is the EXPECTED self-discharge time with the latest build ?

Hi Steve, which version of the firmware is currently on your tool and in what kind of environment are you leaving it (temperature wise)?

It looks like it has been taken down. I get a 404 error when I try to get there.
