Hello all! We are excited to share that Keyboard Emulation is now available for testing on the T1 Tomahawk! Keyboard Emulation allows the T1 to appear as a HID keyboard and connect directly to any bluetooth enabled device. When the save button is selected on the T1 Tomahawk, measurements are sent over in the units displayed on the screen along with the enter key to advance to the next field.

submitted request. Please can you add me in to this as it’s a feature I asked for as a critical addition. This tape has to be my eyes for digital measurement, so it can interface with spoken equipment like my mac, iphone / ipad with other assistive technologies and tools / software for design and data management of measurement.

Hi Derrick,

I tested the Bluetooth function with my MS Surface, together with my Leica Disto and found the optimal solution with this combination.

Now I am glad with my T1!
Kind regards
Sebastian

Hi Derrick,
I am an architect and work together with my wife, she is an interior designer.
Often we have to measure existing buildings/rooms on the basis of old plans or on the basis of photos, for the details.
I work with a Software called Imagemeter to take the measurements without pencil and paper.
The combination of the T1 tapemeasure with a bluetooth laser and with a digital calibre ist our setup,
to measure inside measures, outside measures and diameters precisely and without mistakes while transferring the measures to a plan by hand.
Again: We are glad to use your product!
Sebastian

Would be nice to add some quick action to enable/disable HID keyboard as the current way is a bit complicated. (Oh, I just noticed the oled display is finally showing the menu properly - probably because this feature was added to T1M as well 🙂 )

Hey Randy, we generally dont see customers utilizing it as a quick function (vs keeping it in that mode) so we have it on the main menu (which is being redesigned for the next release)

Hi Rock,
I take 3D measurements of houses and apartments for the manufacture of built-in furniture. After using laser distance meter, I use a digital tape measure of the first accuracy class according to the EU standard to control measurement errors. I transfer measurements from this tape measure to photographs in the ImageMeter program via Bluetooth. With this program, I can use many digital tape measures via Bluetooth, including my laser distance meter and digital tape measure, as well as the Reekon Tomahawk T1 tape measure. Since I take a lot of of measurements, the time spent on transferring each measurement to the program is important to me. For example, when using my laser distance meter or my digital tape measure, I only need two clicks to transfer each measurement to the ImageMeter program - one click on the size line in the photo in the application and one click on the tape measure button.
For comparison, when using T1, you need 5 clicks - one click on the size line in the photo, a second click on the size line in the photo to open the measurement input menu, one click on the measurement input menu window, one click on the tape measure button, one click OK to confirm the measurement input. And if I need to change the measurement result in the photo, then for my laser distance meter and my digital tape measure, I also need only two clicks and the same actions, and when using T1, you need 6 clicks, since in addition to the described actions after clicking on the measurement input menu window, you need to select or erase the old measurement result. I tried all the options for setting the T1 keyboard ending - with enter, comma, semicolon and none, but the result did not change.
My laser distance meter and digital tape measure are made by different manufacturers (Germany, Austria), but they transfer measurements to ImageMeter equally quickly, i.e. in two clicks.
It would be great if Tomahawk T1 had the same functionality with this application.
Moreover, T1 has the functions I need that are missing in other digital tape measures, namely TOGGLE REL and LAYOUT GUIDE.
Kind regards
Vadim

Hi Vadim, hope you are doing well. Could you share what model tape measure and laser distance meter you are using now?

Also, could you share a link to this software and we will look into it to see if there is an easy fix, thanks!

Hi Rock,
I use a combination of Leica Disto X6 and Sola Sito. I recently bought a Tomahawk T1 from you and I also want to use it in my work with the ImageMeter ([https://imagemeter.com](https://imagemeter.com)) app on Android:

After hearing about the firmware update via email, I updated it yesterday. Due to a failure of unknown cause, I have made a total of two updates and completed correction. My machine currently has firmware 0.6.15 but I can’t see the keyboard emulator on the menu. What’s the problem?

Were you looking for the keyboard emulator in the main menu, or in the submenu by holding the in/mm button for 10 seconds, as in this instruction?:
