  1. Free text QR Codes
  2. Ability to create app url QR code - love to be able to create shortcut barcode to open Milwaukee one key app. I can have QR codes for this but would love to print with P1 for on pack outs
  3. Multiline free text

If any of these are already in Rock App not sure how to print these so tips and tricks videos welcome

Hello! App QR codes can be generated but need to use an external program to generate a “deep link” which allows linking to external apps.

The newest version of the app has a text generator option as well

Not seeing how I can print plain text labels to the P1, can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Hello Kurt, you can add text in a Canvas and print the canvas.

We are releasing a text specific utility in the next app release early next week as well!

Right now not a way to rotate text but on the feature list, the logo can be changed in the Printer Settings section on the settings page (if you wanted to leave it blank vs replacing, you would need to upload a white rectangle to occupy the space)

But using a blank image is a global setting and the space cannot be used. For now it is far from what was advertised.
Unfortunately the printer cannot be connected to 3rd party app (QU Printing) which gives unlimited printing options.
API for printing, was mentioned in FAQ as a future feature, would be handy until a better functionality is implemented.

Hey Randy, appreciate the feedback, we have a long back log of features we are considering implementing; which ones are most interesting to you and your use cases as this would be helpful feedback for our product team

Just a quick list which would be handy:

  • panel dimensions - we can print one value / measurement, but not all dimensions at once on one label;
  • printing free text to 50x30 labels;
  • and the best thing would be label templates for unlimited options as for now we have only 4 options with fixed qrcode position/text/header image/image and the header image is selected globally. Then more options would be nice - like drawing lines, forms (like the one for qr code label), auto text (date, incrementing for serial number, or maybe UUID for uniq code). This is handy for “inspection” labels, that are not based on measurements.

The label templates would be handy with API as well - as through the API call you would select a template (might be global one or per project), then values that will be injected into template (so you don’t need to generate the whole raster image) and if the generated label should be saved under a project. Basically with this you could print labels from any job management application or any other application, like Grocy ERP :slight_smile:

But sure, you can say the printer is mainly for printing measurements and not a general purpose printer, but it might be handy if one printer could do all these things. It feels silly to have two same printers - one compatible only with ROCK app (for printing measurements) and other one only with the other app (for the rest) :smiley:
