Typically, that requires combinative measurements to ensure the results are true.
By having a feature that could take the basis of existing assembly measurements, it could simplify this verification process.
These of course would be X - Y coordinates for reference.
Another cool idea would be for stairs. Knowing the Run and Rise and how many treads were required, the capability of producing horizontal and vertical cut measurements would simplify the task.
