I have my Tomahawk connected to my computer as a keyboard emulator via Bluetooth. It works great once it’s paired and connected. However, the issue is that if the Tomahawk isn’t used for a while and powers off due to inactivity, it disconnects from the computer. Every time this happens, I have to manually go back into Bluetooth settings and reconnect it.
Is there a way to make the Tomahawk automatically reconnect after powering back on, or prevent it from disconnecting so easily?
Hello, this is usually a result of the computer bluetooth connection and how it handles reconnection vs something that we can control on the T1 itself. Would make sure you are on the latest firmware (from the ROCK App) as well (1.1.4 is the latest)
I’m using Windows 11 and have not experienced reconnection issues with other Bluetooth devices.
I’ve verified that all system drivers are up to date and confirmed that the Rock device firmware is version 1.1.4. However, the issue still persists.
Could you please assist with next steps?
Hey Parker, I’m not sure. Generally when we see this it is a device/computer/configuration issue on the Bluetooth manager side of things.
The T1 has been tested and confirmed to auto reconnect on Windows 11 computers (both with existing customers) and tried again around the office on some of our windows machines here. Tried letting it go to sleep and well as removing and inserting the battery and it had no issue to reconnect.
Some other steps I woudl recommend looking at:
- Ensure your computer is the only device its paired to and remembers (as sometimes it may connect to another device automatically if you have previously paired it) - if it was connected to a previous device, delete it.
- Ensure the bluetooth permissions allow auto reocnnecting (Bluetooth support service is set to automatic)
- If not, if you could share exactly what model, make, and operating system service version you have, can try to take a look here if there is a way for us to replicate
