Tape Measure does not turn on after charging

When I plug in the tape measure - the readouts show “Charging”, as per normal.
But when I stop charging (unplug) and try to turn on the device - I get no activity. The tape measure does not turn on. No lights - no readout change. Zip.

I’ve tried:

  1. Clicking “On” the button briefly
  2. Holding the “On” button down for 3 seconds
  3. Holding the “On” button down for 5 seconds
  4. Removing the battery and re - attempting all of the above.

No joy.

Is the battery pooched or is there something wrong now with the firm/hardware?

Also, as an aside - why don’t you guys provide a USB cable for charging… I get paranoid that the random cable I am using is causing this issue.

The issue seems to have resolved itself. The behaviour stopped after I left the unit alone for a while. Haven’t seen the behaviour again for some time.
